AMAC Poll: SDP candidate for chairmanship will end double taxation

the igbo community association has announced that the social democratic party (sdp) candidate for the 2026 abuja municipal area council (amac) chairmanship election, obinna simon, popularly known as mc tagwaye, has pledged to end double taxation in part of abuja if elected.
ikenna ellis-ezenekwe, the president-general of the association, revealed this commitment during a conference held in abuja on monday.
according to ellis-ezenekwe, mc tagwaye has also promised to legally curb what the president-general described as needless demolition in amac, executing such actions with a “human face” upon winning the election.
ellis-ezenekwe stated, “we studied his manifestos. among other things is his desire to stop double taxation in amac. ‘needless demolition will be curbed legally with a human face. these two affect common residents in the fct. this is sufficient for us not just because we are igbo but because we are residents in the fct,” he said.
ellis-ezenekwe concluded by urging all amac residents to support simon’s candidacy in the election scheduled for february 21, 2026.
