Army: 16 Terrorists Killed by Soldiers in Borno

On Friday, 16 ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists were eliminated by Operation Hadin Kai troops in Borno state’s Damboa local government area.

This was revealed by the Army on Friday in a post on its official X Twitter.

According to the report, the terrorists were spotted at around one in the morning on Friday and were hit by continuous indirect fire right away.

According to the Army, “the Brigade was the primary target of the attack, which prompted the prompt deployment of air support to reinforce ground troops.”

It also stated that after almost two hours of fierce fighting, the insurgents were overpowered by the combined firepower of the ground and air forces, forcing them to flee in confusion.

“16 terrorists were neutralized during the encounter,” the Army reported. To find escaping elements, a pursuit operation is presently underway.

The military also acknowledged that during the exchange, an ammunition storage area was struck, but it was quickly brought under control, and no additional escalation was seen.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its determination to maintain an attack against all terrorist groups operating in the Northeast and bring about enduring peace in the area.
