Luka Modric, who is preparing to depart the club this summer, has received tributes from current and former Real Madrid players.

This summer, after the conclusion of their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, Modric had already disclosed his intention to depart from Real Madrid.

On Saturday, when Los Blancos host Real Sociedad in their last La Liga match of the season, the captain of Real Madrid will play his final game at Santiago Bernabeu.

 

The 39-year-old Croatia midfielder had on Thursday announced via his Instagram that he will leave Madrid.

“The moment has arrived. The moment I never wanted to come, but that’s football, and in life everything has a beginning and an end,” Modric said on Instagram.

“I arrived in 2012 with the hope of wearing the jersey of the best team in the world and the ambition to do great things, but I couldn’t have imagined what came next,” he said.
