The state government’s proposed cooperation with Turkish businessmen to build a large-scale poultry hatchery, egg, and feed production plant has alarmed Katsina State’s poultry farmers, who have warned that the project could threaten local producers and destabilize the industry. Speaking at the second Annual General Meeting of the Poultry Farmers Association’s Katsina State chapter on Sunday in Katsina, the farmers unanimously criticized the plan and demanded more extensive consultation with local stakeholders.
