Yusuf Datti Ahmed, the Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate in the general election of 2023, has hinted that the alliance opposing President Bola Tinubu’s administration may not last till the very end.
The wealthy businessman questioned what would happen to the coalition if leaders like Chibuike Amaechi or Peter Obi were unable to win the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) only ticket.
Although there is a lot of excitement surrounding the partnership, the vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party stated on Arise News that “I think we should not be swept away by this coalition.”
Key characters Peter Obi (I’ll call him first), Amaechi, Atiku, and possibly Nasir El-Rufai have joined together from a range of backgrounds and interests.
And it’s obvious that Atiku, Obi, and Amaechi are leading contenders among these three, which makes me wonder how the competition will turn out. That is an excellent point, as they are extremely close in the race.
What will happen after this competition? I used the Buhari instance as an example and parallel since he was a far-flung anomaly in the park’s far distance.
These three are really near to one another. Will two others still be part of the coalition if one wins?
The coalition, which has chosen the ADC as its platform to run for president in 2027, is led by former senator David Mark, former governor of Rivers State Chibuike Amaechi, former governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Anambra State Peter Obi, former vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and others.
