A leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, was fired by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for putting the minister up for a popularity contest.
Amaechi was challenged by Olayinka to wait until 2027 to demonstrate his superiority over Wike.
In order to find out who is more popular, Amaechi had previously challenged Wike to walk in public from Abuja to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The former Rivers State governor expressed frustration that Wike does not accord him respect, despite the fact that he brought him into politics.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today last night, Amaechi reiterated that Wike does not respect him.
Olayinka responded by reminding Amaechi that Wike is not a desperate individual who switches between political parties.
To demonstrate his popularity, Amaechi challenges Wike to accompany him on a walk from Abuja to Port Harcourt, Olayinka wrote in a Facebook post.
#ME: No, Wike is not unemployed. Abi Hungry Man Do you think Amaechi saw Wike leap up and search for Kolision Konfuson?
“As Wike defeated Amaechi in 2015, 2019, and 2023, let him wait until 2027.”
