Mark Goldbridge, a football pundit, has expressed his disagreement with Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand’s endorsement of Lamine Yamal for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
This year, Ferdinand had supported Yamal for the Ballon d’Or victory.
After the Champions League semi-final first leg ended in a 3-3 draw between Barcelona and Inter Milan on Wednesday, the Englishman spoke.
Goldbridge, however, did not see eye to eye with Ferdinand. He maintained that this year’s Ballon d’Or should go to the likes of Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele rather than Yamal.
According to him, both players have been better than the Spain winger this term.
Taking to X, Goldbridge said: “Yamal is sensational but the mainstream coverage of him and handing him the Ballon d’Or is so insulting.
“[Barca teammate] Raphinha is having an immense season and so is [Ousmane] Dembele at PSG. Less Rio sensationalism and more realism in the analysis please
