Before the 2027 elections, Governor Uba Sani establishes the APC Consensus Committee.

In order to bolster internal democracy and maintain unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of upcoming elections, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has established a high-level consensus committee on party harmonisation and aspirants’ engagement, led by the state’s deputy governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe.

In order to promote peaceful resolutions in constituencies with conflicting interests, the committee will communicate with candidates, party leaders, and other important stakeholders.

Ahmed Maiyaki, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, stated in a statement that the initiative’s goals are to promote consensus-building within the party, political stability, and mutual understanding.

In addition to encouraging voluntary withdrawals when necessary in the larger interest of party harmony and electoral success, the statement claims that the committee will strengthen mediation and constructive engagement among candidates and stakeholders throughout the state.

Governor Uba Sani’s dedication to inclusive leadership, internal cohesion, and maintaining unity within the APC is reflected in the committee’s constitution.

The deputy governor will chair the committee, and Abubakar Rabiu will be its secretary. Other members include Yusuf Liman, Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly; Atiku Sankey, Chairman of the Kaduna APC; Dr. AbdulKadir Muazu Meyere, Secretary to the State Government; Sani Kila, Chief of Staff to the Governor; Dr. James Kanyip, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General; Ahmed Maiyaki, Commissioner for Information and Culture; and Dr. Mustapha Musa, Deputy Chief of Staff, Legal Services.
