BREAKING: Wike’s PDP faction postpones the Ekiti governor primary election.

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is reportedly loyal to the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has officially postponed the Ekiti State gubernatorial primary that was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 8th, 2025. The delay was attributed to “logistics reasons constraining this exercise.”

The postponement of both the State Congress and the Governorship primary was formally communicated in a letter to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan. The letter was signed by the faction’s leaders, Acting National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed and National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, stating that a new date will be announced once it is decided.
