Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Comrade Issa Aremu, Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), have praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State for fulfilling his duties as a leader by paying N5 billion in gratuities and death benefits.
They made this statement at the Government House in Kano during Governor Yusuf’s investiture as a Fellow of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) and the gratuity payout.They pointed out that Governor Yusuf should be permitted to do more because his care for human welfare and his implementation of people-oriented projects throughout the state represent the highest expectations the electorate has of its leaders.
The APC national chairman expressed profound gratitude for the governor’s good influence on citizens’ lives in a statement released on Friday by Mustapha Muhammad, the governor’s principal press secretary. He insisted that the governor’s record shows that he is a worthy leader.
Professor Yilwatda promised to fully support both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s and Governor Yusuf’s reelection.Comrade Aremu, on his part, reaffirmed that during the 2027 general elections, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its affiliated unions will make sure that state employees, retirees, and their families reciprocate Governor Yusuf’s labor-friendly policies.
Then, in appreciation of his administration’s dedication to the welfare of workers, he awarded the governor the Fellowship of the Institute.
In response, Governor Yusuf promised the APC leadership that he, his political allies, and the Kano State populace would put in endless effort to secure President Tinubu’s reelection for a second term. Governor Yusuf said, “I am extremely honored to receive the National Award for the Fellowship of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS),” on the fellowship investiture.
“I genuinely thank the Institute’s leadership and its Director-General, Comrade Issa Aremu, for believing in me and for finding me deserving of this award.
“I dedicate this prize to all of my friends and the decent citizens of our state. It will definitely motivate me to work even harder to advance good administration and provide our residents with significant growth,” the governor said in closing.In the meantime, those who received the death benefits and gratuity thanked the governor for sparing them from financial difficulty.
One receiver, a retiree who thanked Governor Yusuf, claimed that even though her account balance was less than N1,000, she received a quick payout of N7 million.
