Liverpool star, Jamie Carragher, has suggested that Chelsea midfielder, Moises Caicedo, must improve his decision-making. This was followed what Carragher described a ‘daft’ tackle on Mikel Merino which saw Caicedo awarded a red card during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. VAR upgraded the yellow card first shown the midfielder to red in the 38th minute for the studs-up challenge. Trevoh Chalobah and Merino scored for their respective sides in the game. “I believe we observed that he was tremendously excited from the beginning of the game. I think the whole debate this week of [Declan] Rice against Caicedo maybe got to him, rightly so,” Carragher told Sky Sports.It’s a tremendous game, and he ends up getting himself embroiled in a challenge. Yes, it’s a red card, but it’s plain dumb to getinvolved in atackle like that. He is an excellent player, so he doesn’t need to. He’s a tremendous player, but he obviously needs to learn from that. I’m sure the manager will speak to him if he’s come out and said it was a definite red card, and that’s really wonderful to hear.”
