David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has dismissed worries about ongoing legal battles and reassured party members that the party will fully participate in the 2027 general elections.
After being briefed by the party’s legal staff on a recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Abuja, Mark stated on Wednesday night that he was confident the party will prevail in all legal proceedings.
He declared, “You have nothing to be afraid of regarding all the litigation before the party.”
“I want to reassure you that we will be on the ballot in every election and that we will win every case.”
He further stated that the party was fully prepared to pursue all legal alternatives. “We are more than prepared for these cases and will do everything within the scope of the law to overcome any situation,” Mark said, promising to personally guide the party through the legal process.
The ADC’s legal team has already filed an appeal against the judgment and requested a stay of execution, indicating the party’s intent to oppose the ruling.
Mark’s assurances came as the party ramped up preparations for the 2027 elections, which are considered as essential to strengthening its political footing.
According to party officials, the development is likely to build confidence among members and supporters while also confirming the ADC’s determination to remain a strong challenger.Earlier, the legal team informed Mark and other party leaders on the ramifications of the court ruling and suggested plans for the upcoming cases.
