Dele Momodu, a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated on Monday that Atiku Abubakar, the party’s flag bearer, is President Bola Tinubu’s main opponent.
Momodu stated that Atiku and President Tinubu will compete in the 2027 presidential election, emphasising that it will be a titanic struggle.
Momodu accused the ADC in a post on X of altering its political tactics to take into account fresh approaches to politics.
It’s time for national reconciliation, reorientation, and reconstruction, according to the former presidential candidate.
He wrote: “President Bola Tinubu and his main opponent, Atiku Abubakar, are predicted to engage in a fierce battle in the 2027 presidential election.” The battle of the Titans is what it looks like. Hopefully, a third force will emerge, as it did in 2023, but it won’t have the firepower and persistence to overthrow and destroy the two senior statesmen.
Because of this, it is now necessary and urgent for our beloved party, ADC, to alter the way politics are played by acting as a bridge between traditional and modern, conservative and cosmopolitan tendencies, seasoned politicians and technocrats in government.
“This pair is the best combination, guaranteeing a vibrant blend. A game of religious and ethnic rivalries will bring the North and the South back together.
It is impossible to keep up the current explosive tensions and complete chaos. All of us will be consumed by it; the time has come to turn around and go back to the times of strong beliefs, ideologies, and inspirational leaders.
Even though they weren’t flawless, our founding fathers, including Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello of the Sardauna, and others, did their best. We have totally strayed from the traditions they left us.
In our country, the politics of gansterism have grown intolerably harmful. We require a robust bridge of this kind to connect the North and the South. Before it’s too late, we must take action.
