In order to launch eight new academic programs, the Federal Polytechnic in Bauchi has obtained accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education.
Rabi’u Wada, the Polytechnic’s Director of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, made this announcement in a statement on Wednesday.
He claims that the accomplishment has made it possible for the school to obtain an impressive 100% accreditation rating.
“This historic accomplishment validated the academic quality and institutional excellence of the institution,” he remarked.
“The board also gave approval for the Polytechnic to commence eight new Academic programs,” he added, explaining that the letter was sent by Fatima Umar, Director, Polytechnic Programs Department, NBTE.
“This broadens our academic portfolio even more in response to new national demands and worldwide trends.”
Wada highlighted the newly approved programmes to include “Higher National Diploma, HND in Crime Management, Cooperative Economics and Management, Taxation, Cybersecurity and Data Protection.
“Others are: Artificial Intelligence, Strategic Communication and Media Studies, Film and Multimedia Production and National Diploma, ND in Urban and Regional Planning.
“While commending the Polytechnic’s commitment to quality and innovation, the NBTE also highlighted certain operational areas to be addressed for the full regularisation of the newly introduced programmes.
“These include requirements in operational costs for departments, infrastructure, and equipment, which the institution is already working on in line with NBTE standards.”
The statement revealed that the Rector of the Polytechnic, Sani Usman, described the development as a bold validation of the Polytechnic’s capacity to deliver high-quality technical and vocational education in line with Nigeria’s developmental goals and global best practices.
Wada further stated that the Rector noted that the new programmes reflected the institution’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve in digital technology, media innovation, economic development, and urban planning.
