Jamie Carragher, a former defender for Liverpool, has stated that Arsenal needs to continue winning Premier League games or risk losing the championship.
Carragher was examining the games from the previous weekend, in which Manchester City and Arsenal both gained three points.
The day prior, City crushed Brentford 3-0, while the Gunners defeated West Ham 1-0.
With just Burnley (H) and Crystal Palace (A) remaining, Mikel Arteta’s team leads by five points.
The remaining games for City are against Palace, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa.
“They could put pressure on Arsenal if they get a decent scoreline against Crystal Palace,” stated Carragher.
Arsenal apparently only scored one against West Ham, while they scored three against Brentford.
“I believe that if City wins by three or four goals, it could put pressure on Arsenal and almost give the impression that you could afford to draw.”
“There will be significant pressure on Arsenal if the goal differential is significantly in Man City’s favor heading into the final game of the season.”
“Arsenal must continue to win or they will lose the championship.”
