Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, has finally confirmed he is leaving the Premier League champions at the end of the season.
The England defender is now expected to sign for Real Madrid.
“This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life,” Alexander-Arnold said in a message on social media on Monday.
Alexander-Arnold departs from his childhood club as a free agent.
Having come through the ranks of the Liverpool academy, he has made 352 appearances for the first team and has won two Premier League titles, including this season’s.
In 2019, Alexander-Arnold assisted the Merseyside club in winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup trophies, and he also celebrated victories in two Carabao Cups, one FA Cup, and one Community Shield.
The 26-year-old began this season as one of three essential Liverpool players whose contracts expire this summer. While Liverpool renewed the contracts of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk for two more years, they will lose Alexander-Arnold without receiving a fee.
