Manager Liam Rosenior publicly acknowledged that four of his players were inadequate after Chelsea’s crushing 3-0 Premier League loss to Brighton on Tuesday.
Rosenior also directly apologized to the traveling Blues fans in an open interview with Chelsea TV following the Premier League defeat at the Amex Stadium.
But he acknowledged that only four of his team had given it their all against the Seagulls.
Danny Welbeck, Jack Hinshelwood, and Ferdi Kadioglu scored goals for Brighton, which put the Blues in seventh place on the log.
Rosenior added, “To be honest, I apologize to the fans; that wasn’t acceptable.”
“When my guys deserve it, I will stand up for them. Of them, three or four gave their all. I won’t give names, but three or four is insufficient.
When they play Leeds United in this weekend’s FA Cup semi-final, Rosenior will now want to inspire his squad to respond quickly.
