Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has suggested why his team lost 3-1 against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
A late penalty goal from Cole Palmer ensured Chelsea defeated the Reds at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Fernandez, Jarell Quansah (own goal) and Virgil van Dijk also scored during the encounter.
Speaking at his post-match interview,
Slot said Liverpool were not aggressive in the final third against Chelsea.
According to him, his players missed a few percent to score goal against Enzo Maresca’s side.
Slot said: “They were a constant threat on the counter-attack, but they have a very good team. Well organised and so many great individuals.
“A wise man once said to me ‘nothing good comes from losing a football game’ and that’s how we experience it.
Indeed, we conceded goals on two occasions, but the frequency with which we managed to get past Chelsea was significantly greater than it had been during the previous half-season. “In the final third, our aggression was lacking and we fell short by a few percent in terms of scoring.” Liverpool have already secured their status as this season’s Premier League champions after their victory over Tottenham Hotspur on April 27.
