Five volunteers were removed from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) by the Kano State Command due to what it called egregious indiscipline, unethical behavior, and lack of professionalism.
Mohammed Hassan Agalama, the State Commandant, authorized the dismissal after disciplinary hearings revealed that the impacted volunteers had behaved in a way that was against the Corps’ principles and ideals.
Yakubu Mubarak Yusuf, Isma’il Muhd, Adamu Auwalu, Abdulrazaq Suleiman, and Ahmad Sarki were the employees who were fired.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, all official equipment, uniforms, and identification cards that were given to the impacted persons have been taken away and seized.
Additionally, the command instructed all Area Commanders, Divisional officials, and other pertinent officials in Kano State to keep an eye on the situation and make sure the dismissed persons are not acknowledged or involved in any way on behalf of the Corps.
Commandant Agalama reiterated the command’s zero-tolerance stance for wrongdoing, threatening to take appropriate disciplinary action against any staff members caught committing behaviors that could damage the Corps’ reputation. However, the directive did not specify the precise offenses that the fired volunteers had committed.
