GEJ Golf Club Strives to Make the Course World-Class

This is my fifth year in the position. AVM B.D. Solomon, who also serves as Vice President of the Nigeria Golf Federation, revealed the development of the military golf course in 2021. The Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Golf Club is scheduled to undergo a gradual transformation aimed at elevating its facilities to world-class standards,” he stated. With the help of club members, the course was expanded from nine holes to an 18-hole layout, which has been a key highlight of his career. “It was a nine-hole course when I took office. We have successfully expanded it into a complete 18-hole course, which we are utilizing today, with the help and participation of members,” Solomon said. Now that the addition is finished, the focus is on sustainability, especially being green all year long. He claims that a complete irrigation system is being designed to deal with issues during the dry season.
He clarified, “One important goal is to keep the course completely green throughout the year, so that even during the dry season, the fairways remain green instead of becoming dusty.”
A caddies’ shelter, more tee boxes, and planned rest rooms on the back nine are just a few of the ongoing infrastructure improvements.
He continued, “We are also building infrastructure and planning to introduce rest areas where players can take shelter and refresh themselves.”
