In their heavyweight match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Tyson Fury defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov via unanimous decision.
After temporarily ending his retirement, Fury made his first bout in England in three years. He dominated the match against the Russian fighter from Canada who became a professional in 2017.
Fury went the full 12 rounds to secure his first victory in three fights, and the judges scored the fight 120–108 twice and 119–109.
Makhmudov, who is renowned for his quick starts, demonstrated early intent in the first round by firing a right hand that Fury absorbed while leaning on the ropes. His previous two fights resulted in back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, which had led to his brief retirement.
However, Fury started to take charge in the second round, delivering consistent blows that unnerved the boxer from Dagestan, who found it difficult to corner the seasoned Briton.
In the third round, Fury established control by hooking Makhmudov and then using combinations.
In the fourth round, the 36-year-old Russian retaliated, regaining his composure to maintain the match’s competitiveness.
Fury dominated the subsequent rounds, almost dropping Makhmudov in the eleventh.
To the joy of the spectators, both boxers frequently prevailed in the closing moments as they overcame exhaustion and finished the last round.
Fury’s professional record now stands at 35 victories, 2 defeats, and 1 draw after the victory, while Makhmudov suffered his third loss in 24 fights with 21 victories.
