In Saint Lucia, Tinubu received the greatest honors.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia, or KCOSL, one of the highest national honors bestowed by the government of Saint Lucia.

The Government of Saint Lucia is pleased to announce that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has been named Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia, or KCOSL, by the Governor General, according to a post on the Office of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia’s official X handle.

The Governor General of Saint Lucia approved the conferment on the government’s recommendation in honor of President Tinubu’s outstanding leadership on the African continent, his dedication to promoting South-South cooperation, and his attempts to restore diplomatic, cultural, and historical ties with the Caribbean.

Tinubu, who is on a historic state visit to Saint Lucia as part of a broader diplomatic tour of the Caribbean and South America, becomes one of the few African leaders to receive the prestigious title.

The KCOSL is normally awarded to people who have distinguished themselves in service to the island nation of Saint Lucia, either nationally or internationally, according to the Government of Saint Lucia.

A increasing regional acceptance of Nigeria’s re-engagement strategy under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to reestablish Africa’s largest democracy as a leader in both cultural and international diplomacy, coincides with Tinubu’s honor.

Knight Commander is the second-highest grade of the Order of Saint Lucia, which was founded in 1985 and is the island’s top national honors system. The Grand Cross is the highest grade.
