KEDCO will illuminate Africa’s biggest grain center

The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) is preparing to launch a newly built 35 km, 33 kV overhead power line from Bichi Transmission Station, aimed at supporting economic development in Africa’s largest grain hub at Dawanau.

This N1.1 billion initiative is part of a targeted investment led by Future Energies Africa (FEA), the new core investor in Kano DisCo. FEA collaborates with the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and the state governments of Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa to expedite improvements to the Electricity Distribution Company.
