According to Daily Trust, the Lagos State Government’s recent N244.822 billion bond is creating new options for sub-nationals to investigate the capital market and draw investors to their individual states. Lagos State has issued N244.82 billion in bonds, which will be used for the building of vital infrastructure. This amount has been dubbed the single highest bond issuance by any state. Nigeria’s first subnational Green Bond was issued by the state government, raising N14.815 billion from bids totaling between N29.29 billion and N27.79 billion. Another significant milestone in the state’s groundbreaking attempts at creative financial management for long-term growth was the N14.815 billion 5-Year 16.00 percent Fixed Rate Series 3 Green Bond 2030.
