The Ebonyi State Government has intervened in a long-standing land conflict between the Ndiakparata-Ndubia and Nduezeoke-Ndiechi communities within the Izzi Local Government Area. Professor Paul Awo Nwobasi, the Commissioner for Border-Peace and Conflict Resolution, announced the intervention during a recent meeting in Abakaliki where he presented formal peace documents and shared the government’s official resolution. He explained that the ministry took action following numerous reports of unrest, aiming to establish permanent stability in the region. Both sides have consented to have the ministry and the State Surveyor General’s office schedule a date to officially demarcate the contested boundaries. Representatives from both communities, including Eze John Nwenyi and Eze Jonas Nwoba, praised Governor Francis Nwifuru for his prompt mediation and committed to upholding the terms of the settlement. Consequently, both parties have pledged to end all hostilities and assist officials during the upcoming land survey.
