Mabo credits the club owner for Doma United’s promotion.

Doma United’s head coach, Najib Mabo, attributes the “Savannah Tigers” elevation to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to Alhaji Suleiman Umar, the club’s owner, having complete faith in him.

With one game remaining, Doma United, who were demoted to the lower tier in 2024, secured their spot in Nigeria’s top division from Conference C.

Doma United ended first in the table with 26 points after winning 8 of their 14 games, therefore even though they lost 1-3 at KADA Warriors in their final game of the season, their hopes of being promoted were unaffected.

In an interview with Daily Trust yesterday, Mabo stated that the promotion would not have been feasible without the steadfast assistance of the club’s owner, who supplied all the necessary materials to obtain the ticket.

In addition to refraining from interfering with technical issues, he claimed that the club president made sure that salaries, match bonuses, and travel expenses were paid on time, all of which he claimed greatly enhanced the exceptional performances.

“I would like to use this opportunity to sincerely thank Alhaji Suleiman Umar (Mai Doma), the president of Doma United, for having such faith in me.

“He promised not to meddle in my work when I was employed. And he fulfilled his pledge as the gentleman that he is.

In fact, he didn’t impose a single player on me when he realized that I could manage the strain in Mighty Jets.

“He gave us all the equipment I needed to get this promotion,” he stated.

The renowned Ismaila Mabo’s son, Najib, expressed gratitude for earning the NPFL ticket in return for his boss’s trust.

Mabo Jr. stated, “He trusted me honestly, and I am happy that I paid him back with the NPFL ticket.”
