The British legal system now includes a Nigerian-born High Court Judge, Mrs. Margaret Obi, making her the first African-born person to hold this position in England and Wales.
Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, announced and praised the “historic” appointment in a social media post, “Celebrating Excellence Beyond Borders.” He lauded her over 27 years of legal practice and seven years of judicial service as a testament to “hard work, integrity, and professional excellence.”
Peter Obi clarified that Mrs. Margaret Obi is not his wife, whose official name is Mrs. Margaret Peter-Obi.
He emphasized that her success showcases the exceptional potential of Nigerians on the global stage when given a supportive environment, urging that her achievement should motivate Nigeria to foster such excellence within the nation’s borders.
