MDAs’ Physical Cash Receipts Are Prohibited by FG

The Federal Government has issued a new directive that, as of January 1, 2026, prohibits Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) from using physical cash receipts for any revenue-related activities. Following the publication of four significant treasury circulars by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), the federal government claims that the action is a component of a larger digital revamp of Nigeria’s public finance architecture.
