Gary Neville, a former defender for Manchester United, was gushing over Arsenal’s tenacity following their 1-0 victory over the Red Devils on Sunday.
The winner came via a goal by Riccardo Calafiori in the thirteenth minute.
The Gunners maintained their first clean sheet of the season despite United’s best efforts to rally.
David Raya was voted Man of the Match after making a number of outstanding saves to keep the hosts out.
“Arsenal really dug in,” Neville stated on Sky Sports. They were incredibly resilient.
We are aware of their defensive prowess. As the game progressed, the back four improved and the goalie made some excellent saves.
“Arsenal was never at their best, but it’s always difficult to visit Manchester, whether it’s Old Trafford or Manchester City’s stadium.”
