The Inter Party Advisory Council, or IPAC, has demanded that the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State be free, fair, credible, and inclusive. Additionally, IPAC urged INEC, the Independent National Electoral Commission, to ensure that all candidates and political parties running in the election have equal opportunities.
In a message congratulating Nigerians on the 65th anniversary of their country’s independence, it made the call.
The political party body praised Nigerians for a significant achievement in the country’s democratic governance and praised the bravery and patriotism of the country’s founding fathers and fellow citizens who battled for independence from the British colonial overlords.
We demand that Anambra State hold a free, fair, credible, and inclusive gubernatorial election on November 8, 2025. IPAC’s National Chairman, Dr. Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, signed the statement, which urged INEC to give all political parties and their candidates running in the election a level playing field.
Additionally, politicians ought to embrace issue-based campaigns and avoid resentful politics that obstruct the country’s electoral process. Every vote should be counted and included in the final outcome, and we should uphold the sanctity of the ballot box. Let’s restore confidence in the democratic system before the general election in 2027. Elections are the beauty of democracy.
“Despite our political, socioeconomic, and security challenges, Nigerians are a resourceful and resilient people determined to build a better nation,” the statement continued.
Given that this is their only country, it called on citizens to take advantage of the 65th anniversary of independence to reflect soberly and recommit to serving their country.
Now is the moment to take action. Patriotism is needed now. It’s time to strengthen democracy in the country and face the future with newfound hope and confidence.
This is our opportunity to guide the country toward morality, development, and progress and leave our children and future generations with a society that is peaceful, stable, just, and prosperous.

IPAC, which represents all of Nigeria’s officially recognized political parties, declared its steadfast dedication to the nation’s sustainable democracy and progress.
“We will create a sustainable democracy together. The statement went on to say, “We are all in it together.”
