Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, the commissioner of Niger State’s Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has refuted allegations that she purposefully withheld money to support the state’s basketball team’s participation in the Nestle Milo Basketball Championship in Lagos.
In a statement released by Priscilla Nagarta Tumaka, the ministry’s information officer, the Commissioner called the accusations “false, unfounded, and misleading.”

“The Ministry wishes to reassure the public that it is firmly committed to accountability, transparency, and the improvement of education and sports in Niger State.”
According to the statement, an inquiry team has been formed to carefully examine the facts underlying these accusations in light of this difficult situation.
