Players from ACT di Sports, Franceex, Bison, and Seamoriow FC have been banned for two years by the Nationwide League One (NLO) due to their involvement in match-fixing.
The league authority imposed a fine of N500,000 on each of the four clubs and annulled all matches they have played in the ongoing season.
After examining the outcomes of matchday nine at Lagos’s Maracana Centre, the NLO issued the declaration.
The outcomes being looked at are ACT di Sports Oyibo’s 2-9 defeat against Seamoriow and Franceex’s 9-0 victory over Bison.
The NLO noted that Bison FC allowed Franceex to gain a goal difference advantage by conceding nine goals, while Seamoriow FC benefited from ACT di Sports Oyibo’s goals in their attempt to surpass Franceex on goal difference.
All offenders involved will have their names and images released as an additional penalty for the players and officials.
