Dr. Tobi Oluwatola, the Chief Executive Officer of TAO Energy, has been crowned the overall net winner at the 2025 African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS) golf tournament, which took place at Abuja’s TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club
Oluwatola, playing off a 19 handicap, achieved a gross score of 86 and a net score of 67, placing him at the top of the leaderboard among more than 250 golfers. Oluwatola, who was filled with joy, called the victory a moment of breakthrough after many years of trying.“The battle was hard-fought. “I am obviously very elated because I have worked very hard for this,” he said. “I have finished second many times in this tournament, but this is my first overall win, so this cup is especially meaningful to me,” he said
In the Ladies’ Division, Rose Nyam secured the Best Gross trophy with a solid round of 92 strokes and no handicap allowance. She raised the trophy high as her fellow competitors applauded her impeccable drives.
Saratu Khadi, in her debut at a major event, recorded a score of 101, finishing not far behind. Due to her 24-stroke handicap, Saratu’s net score of 77 was sufficient for her to secure the runner-up position.
