The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has condemned the attack at Onitsha Main Market that resulted in the death of traders, including a pregnant woman.

Obi demanded thorough scrutiny, proper reorganisation, and strict accountability for those organisations in a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday.According to Obi, the group’s actions need to be carefully examined, and those who committed the crimes need to be held accountable. The fact that state-backed organizations established to aid in security situations are instead making matters worse for already-terrorized citizens and occasionally behaving worse than the criminals they were intended to apprehend is extremely concerning.
