One of the main causes of insecurity in Africa, according to Omar Touray, head of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, is exclusion. He made this statement on the occasion of Steve Okey Onwuka’s 60th birthday and the release of his three books, the pioneering Chief Protocol of the ECOWAS Commission.”Africa should establish collaboration and solidarity in the areas of regional security and inclusion,” stated the ECOWAS President, who is also the Chief Host, during his welcoming speech at the books’ introduction on Tuesday at the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja. “Africa may not be able to address the issues of insecurity throughout our region unless it restores its values.”
