Police in Nasarawa forbid burning tires on crossover night.

The Nasarawa State Police Command has prohibited the burning of tires during New Year’s crossover activities, warning that violators will face arrest and prosecution. Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed issued the order to safeguard public and private property, protect the environment, and maintain order. Police spokesperson SP Ramhan Nansel explained that the measure is necessary to prevent infrastructure damage and safety hazards, adding that all commanders have been instructed to enforce the ban strictly. Additionally, the Commissioner advised vulcanizers to secure used tires daily and urged parents to ensure their children do not participate in such activities. The command reassured the public of its commitment to a peaceful celebration and requested community cooperation in reporting any breaches of the directive.
