The Yobe State All Progressives Congress (APC) Critical Stakeholders’ Forum has named Baba Malam Wali, former Secretary to the State Government, as its chosen candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
This was said in a statement issued by the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to Governor Mai Mala Buni, Mamman Mohammed, following the outcome of the stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the stakeholders regarded Malam Wali as an experienced technocrat with the necessary qualifications, patience, and temperament for effective leadership and governance.
The forum highlighted that the former SSG has been an active participant in successive state administrations for many years, making him qualified to guarantee the state’s development purpose and vision are carried forward.
“The party, at its stakeholders’ meeting last week, agreed to produce its candidates through the consensus mode of election,” the statement continued.
It further added that Governor Buni and the forum’s chairman, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, underlined the party’s commitment to ongoing conversation aimed at fostering unity within the party.
