Dumebi Kachikwu, a former presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has stated that the party is not for sale and emphasized that it will run a presidential candidate in the general elections of the next year.
Speaking to reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, Kachikwu made this claim.
He was responding to the ruling that prohibited any congresses run by the David Mark-led leadership from being recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
He referred to the Federal High Court in Abuja’s nullification of conventions as “kangaroo congresses and conventions.”
He claims that a recent court decision on factional congresses has rejected the move.He claimed that the court’s ruling supported his long-standing caution that certain people were determined to use the party for their own personal gain.
“The ADC is not for sale,” he declared. In the general elections of 2027, our party will have a presidential candidate.
“Those who attempted to take over our party have been shown the exit via the same back door they entered.”
