Leon Balogun was delighted with Rangers’ 4-0 victory over Aberdeen at the Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
The Light Blues put an end to their winless run at home with a commanding display in front of their fans.
Vaclav Cerny, Cyriel Dessers, Hamza Igamane and Jefte all scored for Rangers in the second half after a goalless first half.
According to Balogun, the players felt greatly relieved to have finally ended the streak of games without a win.
He stated on the club’s official website, “We hadn’t won at Ibrox in seven games, which was nothing to be proud of. That’s why it’s good to take that monkey off our back.”
“In my opinion, it was pretty comfortable throughout, but we had more to give. That’s what the gaffer said at half-time.
I think overall it was quite comfortable from start to finish but there was still more in the tank and that is what the gaffer told us at half-time.
“He wanted us to empty the tank and make sure we gave that 10/15 per cent more going forward.”
Balogun is expected to leave the Scottish Premiership giants at the end of the season following the expiration of his contract.
