Cross River citizens have been urged by former Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba to support Governor Bassey Otu and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Ndoma-Egba stated that President Tinubu and Governor Otu were performing well since their election, according to Naija News.
This was said by the Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) Governing Council on Tuesday during a rally held in the state’s Ikom Local Government Area by the residents of Cross River Central Senatorial District in support of President Tinubu and Governor Otu under the Central Progressive Initiative (CPI).
For equity and fairness, the Cross River people have traditionally rotated the gubernatorial position, according to the three-time senator from Cross River Central.
We are here today to support Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our president and commander-in-chief, for a second term, as well as our governor, Senator Bassey Otu, for a second term following 2027.
At Cross River, we have a custom. We use senatorial districts or zones. Since this democratic era, it has been customary for all governors to be able to execute their duties. He stated that Senator Otu ought to be permitted to serve his eight years in peace and without interference.
The leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) stated that Governor Otu would be able to focus on governing with the early endorsement.
In 2027, he said, the people of Cross River Central would support Tinubu and Otu.
People say that this endorsement is coming too early. I don’t think so. It is good that we endorse him (Otu) now, so that he can concentrate on the good work he is doing and not be distracted by politics.
“So, the earlier, the better. And there is no better time than now to endorse him. I fully support this move that he be endorsed. I also support the move that our President and Commander-In-Chief be endorsed at this point, for reasons of tradition and stability.
“I welcome all of us from the central senatorial district to this epoch-making event and enjoin you all to continue to put your weight and support behind our amiable governor, Prince Bassey Otu and our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he stated.
