The office of Senator Abba Moro (Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader) has dismissed the recent attack on his character by the Zone C Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) as a “feeble attempt” orchestrated to appease their political patron. The Senator’s office clarified that Moro’s criticisms of the state government are not personal against Governor Alia but are focused on core governance issues, including maladministration, nepotism, insensitivity, and a disregard for the rule of law. The statement contrasted the Senator’s track record of securing three establishment bills and executing verifiable projects with the local government chairmen’s failure to provide basic amenities despite having “substantial resources,” calling their attack a “show of shame.”
