Paul Onuachu of Trabzonspor and Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Başakşehir, who finished as the league’s top scorer ahead of Victor Osimhen in a fiercely contested race, have been named joint winners of the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot for the 2025–2026 season.
With 22 league goals at the end of the season, the Nigerian striker had an exceptional year and won the top scorer title.
On Monday, the Nigeria Football Federation also thanked the forward on X, highlighting his outstanding play all season long.
The NFF stated, “Paul Onuachu was a force to reckon with, scoring 22 goals in the Süper Lig this season.”
Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Başakşehir also had a great season with about 22 goals, while Anderson Talisca of Fenerbahçe trailed closely with 19 goals. Onuachu’s consistency and clinical finishing in crucial games proved crucial as he maintained his lead in the scoring charts during the campaign’s final stretch.
Despite a number of noteworthy performances, Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, one of the league’s most well-known acquisitions, concluded the season with 15 league goals, placing him outside the top three scorers.
With 14 goals, his colleague Mauro Icardi was also among the league’s top scorers, maintaining Galatasaray’s position at the top of the standings.
Onuachu eventually emerged victorious to win the Golden Boot and finish as the league’s most prolific striker, despite the fact that the competition stayed close for a large portion of the season.
