Six individuals were kidnapped by bandits during an early morning attack on Gazau village in Sokoto State’s Isa Local Government Area.
According to a source who spoke to DAILY POST, the attackers stormed multiple residences in the village at around one in the morning on Monday and kidnapped a total of thirteen people, including twelve women and one guy.
He clarified that one person was released for every two members of the same household after the attackers stopped in Dan Adama Forest and asked the kidnapped to identify themselves.
“In the end, the assailants took six persons to their hideout, while seven others were freed,” he added.
Asabe Zakariya, Inno Ibrahim, Inno Musa, Umma Yusuf, Safina Abdullahi, and Saminu Jijji were the names of those kidnapped, according to him.
According to the report, the bandits vowed to keep attacking the community every day unless the locals asked them for forgiveness.
Sharehu Abubakar Kamarawa, the chairman of Isa LGA, was unreachable by phone.
In a same vein, DSP Ahmad Rufai, the spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, did not answer calls.
