Roberto Firmino, a former striker for Liverpool, has explained why he turned down a previous chance to sign with Real Madrid. Before choosing to play for Al-Ahli of the Saudi Pro League, the Brazilian had the chance to sign with Los Blancos. Speaking on his decision to reject Real Madrid, the 34-year-old acknowledged that a number of circumstances played a role, including the fact that he wasn’t Madrid’s first choice at the time and didn’t want to wait long for an offer. “To be honest, there was interest [from Real Madrid],” Firmino stated in an interview with TNT Sports Brasil (via Madrid Universal). I was informed about it by my agency, and while it was current once more, it wasn’t like the last offer to travel to Arabia. Madrid was genuinely interested back then.
