Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has retaliated against President Bola Tinubu for attributing Nigeria’s deteriorating power sector to previous administrations.

The ADC Chieftain expressed surprise at the recent statement attributed to Tinubu, claiming that despite billions of naira in budgetary allocations over the past three years, the President should apologize to Nigerians for failing to fulfill his pledge to address the country’s electricity issue.
“Blaming previous administrations for his government’s complete failure to solve Nigeria’s electricity problem is an excuse in futility, an aberration, and a story for the gods,” Eze said.

Eze waved away Tinubu’s claim that structural flaws in the privatization process have impeded progress for years.
Eze countered that “Tinubu promised to fix the problems, and never said he would blame past governments as he is doing right now,” assuming without acknowledging that the country’s electricity issues were brought on by a flawed privatization.
“Tinubu reportedly stated in his 2023 campaign pledge that Nigerians should not vote for him if he failed to improve electricity supply,” he continued.
It is now abundantly evident that Tinubu has failed miserably to fulfill his promise, and as a result, he has no justification.
Eze said, “I therefore urge Nigerians to obey Tinubu’s wish by voting him out of power based on his demand that he be removed if he fails to address the electricity problem in Nigeria.”
Eze questioned why a man who has led his party for more than ten years would have the gall to point the finger at former leaders.
“Tinubu’s next strategy is to start mentioning names and peddling falsehoods against Nigerians who worked hard to unbundle the monopoly in the power generation sector, after blaming skewed privatization of the power sector,” Eze stated
However, he claimed that Nigerians are now more astute and have witnessed the enormous harm that Tinubu and his allies have inflicted upon the nation as a result of poor leadership.
Therefore, Tinubu’s poor leadership style will cause hungry and irate Nigerians to vote him out, regardless of the amount of blackmail and propaganda used to achieve cheap political goals during the campaign.
