The APC LG Chairmen of Delta North Oppose Ned Nwoko’s Re-election

Ned Nwoko, the senator for the district, has not received the support of local government chairmen in Delta North who support the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform for a second term.
According to Naija News, the decision was made by the seven chairmen of Delta north LGAs: Austin Nnabuife (Oshimili north), Dada Okolo (Oshimili south), Nobert Akachukwu Sochukwudinma (Aniocha south), Hilary Fada Ibude (Ika south), Oputa Knis (Ndokwa east), Dike Onah (Ndokwa west), and Churchill Edem (Ukwuani). The statement was released jointly on Tuesday, June 17, 2

The chairmen stated they were not involved in Nwoko’s endorsement and asked party members and the public to ignore it, even as they reiterated their shared support for President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term in office.

As the party gets ready for the 2027 elections, the chairmen emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and focus.

They added that the APC in Delta North is still credible and dedicated to winning the party’s 2027 election, and they urged Monday Onyeme, the state deputy governor, to assume a leadership position in directing the party before the next general election.

According to the statement, “We were not involved in the Delta North APC stakeholders meeting or some ward chairmen’s alleged endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term.

“Such activities must be ignored since they do not represent the position of the APC structures at the local government level.

“Anyone interested in running for a Senate, House of Representatives, or Assembly seat must work to expand the party and get ready for open, fair, and credible primaries, since the party is driven by internal democracy and due process.

“We respectfully and humbly ask him to kindly assume the role of bringing the party together and directing its future.”
