Excited shareholders will receive an interim dividend from MTN Nigeria Plc this week. The telecom company’s board of directors announced a plan to distribute profits to shareholders in the form of a dividend after a bumper earnings harvest in the first nine months of the fiscal year 2025. According to Daily Trust, the telecom business has been on a dividend holiday for the past two years due to foreign exchange obligations brought on by the depreciation of the naira.For the nine months ending in September 2025, the telecom business reported a 245.7% year-over-year increase in earnings after tax to N750.19 billion ($522.06 million) from a N514.9 billion ($358.34 million) deficit in the same time last year, confirming its return to profitability. “The Board of Directors of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has approved an interim dividend of N5 per 2 kobo ordinary share, subject to appropriate deduction of withholding tax,” MTN informed the Nigerian Exchange. Shareholders whose names are included in the Register of Members as of the close of business on November 20, 2025, will receive the interim dividend.
