Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bisi Akande, revealed that President Bola Tinubu is concentrated on freeing Nigeria’s assets from being exploited unlawfully by foreign entities.
Akande stated that Tinubu is dedicated to fortifying Nigeria against both internal saboteurs and those he termed “neo-colonialist grumblers.”
He made these comments in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, while giving a lecture titled ‘Governance, Structural Reforms and the Economic Landscape of Nigeria in the 21st Century’. The lecture was part of the inaugural Joel Babatola Annual Lectures organized by the Ekiti Council of Elders.
Akande noted that the President is prioritizing the development of human capital, especially in science and technology, to better equip young Nigerians.
According to Akande, Tinubu is focused on: “strengthening the Nigerian unity against the indigenous retrogressive saboteurs and the neo-colonialist grumblers and extricating Nigerian resources from massive illegal foreign exploitations, perhaps and perhaps, at least pending the fury of the threatened invasion from the global powers and international municipalities.”
He added that the President’s agenda includes rapid expansion of infrastructure, particularly in the sectors of transportation and electricity. This expansion is planned through collaboration between the private sector and different government levels to support agricultural and industrial processing and to improve the movement of goods between urban and rural areas.
This disclosure comes amidst a reported threat by United States President Donald Trump to potentially invade Nigeria following claims of Christian genocide.
Trump had reportedly threatened military intervention aimed at eliminating Islamic terrorists who are responsible for killing Christians in the Northern region of the country.
