On Saturday, President Bola Tinubu opened two significant infrastructure projects in Ogun State: a state-of-the-art Nigeria Customs Service facility and an agro-cargo airport worth billions of naira.
In order to demonstrate the facility’s operational capability, which is anticipated to increase agricultural exports and logistics inside the state, the President touched down at the recently finished airport on a fully loaded Airbus.’
A N73 billion office building for the Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit, Zone A, situated in Iperu, Ogun State, was also put into service.
In order to improve operational effectiveness and bolster institutional capacity, the complex includes administrative buildings, a training college, and a warehouse.

Speaking during the inauguration, Tinubu praised Bashir Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of Customs, for designing what he called a suitable facility for the unit.
In his remarks, Adeniyi clarified that traffic and the need to enhance service delivery made the unit’s move from its previous facility in Ikeja, Lagos, necessary.
He claims that the action improves employee wellbeing while still being in line with the Service’s primary mandates of revenue generation, trade facilitation, and enforcement.
In addition to launching the state’s new airline, Gateway Airline, the president praised Governor Abiodun for his accomplishments while in office, stating that the Governor had justified tlevel.
Abiodun’s agricultural activities and the 1000 electric bikes he had distributed were praised by the president, who called them “a smart response to modern transportation needs.”

lusegun Obasanjo said it was a significant moment in Ogun State’s history and praised Tinubu for making the sacrifice to attend.
He praised Governor Abiodun for constructing the airport, calling it a historic undertaking.
“It took me 45 minutes from here to my home, which is at least 25 minutes shorter than if I had landed in Lagos,” he remarked after arriving from Abuja.
In his speech, Abiodun stated that his government needed to solve the infrastructure gap in order for Ogun State to exploit its proximity to Lagos.
Abiodun stated that his government had built over 7000 affordable homes, the Muhammed Buhari estate, and 1600 kilometers of highways, including the Epe-Ijebu Ode, Sango-Abeokuta Expressway, and Ilishan Iperu Road.
He revealed that the state hopes to have 50 cargo flights from the recently opened airport by the end of the year.
“Beyond aviation, we have made remarkable progress in the last 7 years with more than 1,600km of constructed or rehabilitated road infrastructure,” he stated. The Epe Ijebu Ode expressway, the Sagamu Interchange-Papalanto expressway, the Sango Abeokuta expressway, the Sagamu Iperu Ode Remo Sapade expressway, the Ilishan Iperu road, the airport road that connects to the Sagamu-Benin expressway (which you commissioned earlier), and the Sagamu Iperu Ode Remo Sapade expressway—all of which improve connectivity and shorten travel times.
