To promote gender-inclusive sports, Adidas and LATC donate 200 footballs to schools in Lagos.

The international sportswear company adidas, in collaboration with its Nigerian franchise partner LATC, has donated 200 adidas footballs to schools around Lagos State as part of its dedication to gender inclusion, youth empowerment, and grassroots sports development.

Twenty schools will benefit from the program, which is being run in partnership with the Lagos State Sports Commission and guarantees a balanced distribution between the boys’ and girls’ teams. It represents a daring move to advance gender-neutral equality in school athletics.

During a courtesy visit, Dave Thomas, CEO of adidas Global Emerging Markets, gave the Lagos State Governor a symbolic football as a way to honor the gesture and demonstrate adidas’ commitment to assisting government-led youth and sports programs in Nigeria.
“Sport has the ability to influence the future,” an adidas representative stated. “This donation represents an investment in the aspirations, well-being, and leadership potential of young boys and girls throughout Lagos; it goes beyond simply providing tools. Every youngster should have the chance to play, develop, and flourish, in our opinion.
